The poem ‘The Planners' by Boey Kim Cheng mentions the location structure and shows that perfection, uniformity and control over character are the main concepts from this city plan. The choose to perfection and uniformity with the planners inside the poem highlights another theme which is the control over mother nature. The aim of the powerful organizers is to replace the country that they live in how they want. Therfore, they want to have power and potential to control the thoughts of people. The planners called in the composition can be assessed in a larger sense because government since government may be the effective electric power which adjustments the whole structure of the country. The initially stanza in the poem describes what the ‘Planners' do bodily; " They will plan. They will build…” There appear to be a great obsession with perfection and uniformity, to get " The buildings happen to be in positioning with the tracks which satisfy at preferred points. ” The word 'aligment' here shows the exactness and flawlessness of the structure. The buildings are bodily excellent nevertheless they are lack of real interest and sentiment because they are certainly not connected with the good feelings of people. The reason behind disconnection can be due to the intense use of mathemathical calculations. Again the wish for efficiency is seen amongst planners. The application of personification for the sea and skies highlights the sense of wipe out.
